Casual retail assistant, The Market Folk Pop up, Brisbane CBD

Our CBD pop up at Post Office Square is home to 26 independent Australian makers, and we are looking for a casual retail assistant to run the shop floor.

The role

• Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, 9.45am to 5.15pm
• Post Office Square, Brisbane CBD
• $34.76 per hour plus superannuation (General Retail Industry Award, Level 1 casual)
• Starting early October, through to the end of the season on 29 October, with the possibility of extension into our Christmas season

What you will be doing

• Opening and closing the shop
• Serving customers and processing card sales on Shopify POS
• Keeping displays full, tidy and looking their best
• Telling customers the stories behind our makers
• Taking stock deliveries from vendors and helping with restocks
• Light cleaning and end of day close down

Who we are looking for

• Someone genuinely interested in Australian makers, design and small business
• Confident working alone and making sensible decisions without a manager on site
• Warm with customers, reliable with the details
• Retail or hospitality experience is helpful, but a good attitude matters more
• Comfortable with an iPad based point of sale system

This suits a student, a creative building their own brand, or anyone who wants steady midweek hours in a beautiful space.
