After nearly a decade since our very first market, the time has come for a new chapter — The Market Folk is officially for sale.

This decision comes not from a lack of faith in the creative arts industry or the economy — far from it. Rather, it’s a personal change of season for me as the current owner. I remain deeply proud of everything this community has become and incredibly optimistic about its future. This decision has not come about lightly, and is a result of an extensive period of reflection and after nearly 10 years of event planning I feel it is the right time to step down.

From one small rack sale in Morningside in 2015, The Market Folk has grown into a thriving creative community — with over 100 markets managed, more than 1,000 stallholders supported, and a waitlist of talented makers reaching from the Gold Coast to the Sunshine Coast. With strong brand recognition, loyal audiences, and sought-after venues, this is an exciting opportunity to take the reins of a much-loved Brisbane institution. Thank you for being part of this journey so far. It is very much business as usual while this transition takes place, and given the niche nature of the business this may take sometime to get it right - and that is okay. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for this beloved community.
