Father's Day Markets Brisbane: Shop Handmade for Dad at Gasworks
Father's Day Markets Brisbane: Shop Handmade for Dad at Gasworks
There is a particular kind of Father's Day gift that gets bought in a panic on the Saturday morning. Socks. A novelty mug. A gift card tucked into a card. If that sounds familiar, here is a better plan a week out from the big day.
Our Father's Day Market lands at Gasworks Plaza in Newstead on Saturday 29 August, the weekend before Father's Day on Sunday 6 September. It is the perfect window to find something Dad will actually use, made by someone local who cares about getting it right.
Why shop a market for Father's Day
Dads can be hard to buy for, but markets make it easier. Instead of trawling the same shopping centre shelves, you get a curated mix of independent makers in one walkable spot, with the people who made the goods standing right behind the table. Ask a question, hear the story, walk away with something that means a bit more than a barcode.
And every dollar stays close to home. Each stall is a small Queensland business, so your Father's Day shop quietly supports a local maker rather than a multinational. That is the whole point of what we do.
Handmade Father's Day gift ideas
Our makers are known for the kind of things dads are genuinely glad to receive:
- Leather goods, from wallets to belts to keyrings
- Handcrafted woodwork and homewares
- Small-batch sauces, spice rubs, and locally roasted coffee
- Candles, soaps, and grooming made by hand
- Art, prints, and photography for the office or shed
- Plants and pots for the gardener in the family
[Confirm vendor mix closer to the date so we can name a few highlights here.]
Make a morning of it
Gasworks is one of Brisbane's favourite spots to wander, with cafes and food close by, so there is no rush. Bring Dad along for a coffee and let him choose, or sneak down on your own and keep it a surprise. Leashed dogs are welcome too, so the whole family can come.
