A market made for dogs: what to expect at Dog's Day Out, Gasworks

There are markets, and then there are markets where your dog is the guest of honour. Dog's Day Out at Gasworks Plaza on Saturday 27 June is firmly the latter — a carefully curated morning dedicated entirely to the dogs of Brisbane and the people who love them.  Free entry, four hours, and more tail-wagging per square metre than anywhere else in the city that day. Here's what you and your dog can look forward to.

Fashion, accessories and all things stylish
If your dog has opinions about what they wear (and let's be honest, some of them absolutely do), this is their moment. Billy Bear Co brings handmade apparel and accessories crafted for the fashion-conscious pooch, while Tiny Paw Couture specialises in harnesses, clothing and accessories designed specifically for small and tiny dogs — thoughtfully resized, not just scaled down. Frankie & Friends rounds out the fashion contingent with their Gold Coast-made range of luxe dog clothes, hoodies, raincoats, rashies, harnesses, leads and adventure mats. And for handmade pet accessories with serious heart — harnesses, collars, leads, bandanas, snuggle sacks and more — Wil & Essie Handmade Pet Boutique is not to be missed.

Treats, bakes and things to eat

This is where it gets seriously good for the dogs. The Pooch Patisserie handcrafts bouji dog cookies, pastries, carob bars, cakes and cupcakes — equal parts edible and photogenic. Floofy Patisserie adds more to the baked goods lineup, while Gunners Goodies brings their beloved frozen fruit and veg dog treats and dog ice cream.

PawPaw Pal stocks premium freeze-dried treats made with human-grade ingredients across a range of single-protein options including chicken, salmon, kangaroo and beef liver. The Doggie Health Hub offers grain-free, all-natural homemade biscuits, natural shampoo and dehydrated Australian treats, and Malakula Farm brings pure single-protein treats made from Australian animals - no chemicals, no preservatives, just the good stuff.

Biggie's Raw Pantry stocks a range of 40+ all-natural treats, chews, supplements and eco-friendly toys — a one-stop shop for dog owners who take what goes into their pet seriously. The Treatery covers treats, supplements and enrichment toys all in one spot.

Wellness, grooming and good living
The Sniff offers their Foundational Edit — a beautifully considered starter pack for new puppy owners or anyone making the switch to more natural, plastic-free dog essentials. Mr Potts Dog Grooming will be on-site with grooming services and a premium DIY dog wash, and WOOFY Pet Service brings their full suite of dog training, daycare, boarding and grooming expertise. Local Newstead dog daycare Kip. Happy Stays will also be there — a handy introduction to one of Brisbane's most trusted dog care providers, right in the neighbourhood.

Hydration on the go
Cao Chaos & Co has the clever three-in-one dog water bottle sorted — worth picking one up before the warmer months return.
Photography, art and a free portrait for your pup
This might be the most dog-photogenic market of the year, and there are two photographers and an artist ready to prove it. Suzanne Joy Photography specialises in luxury pet photography and will have digital prints and wall art available on the day.

DK Imagery is offering mini shoots on the day for all the dogs — and the first 50 photos are free. If you've been waiting for the perfect excuse to finally get that portrait done, this is it.

Soru Soru Studio brings something completely one-of-a-kind: live anime-style portraits drawn on the spot, including their signature four-cut photo booth style drawings. The first 50 are free, so get in early. Your dog as an anime character. You're welcome.

Come along
Dog's Day Out is free to attend, open to all breeds and sizes, and set in the relaxed, riverside surrounds of Gasworks Plaza in Newstead — one of Brisbane's best spots for a Saturday morning wander.
