October – December is our absolute favourite time of year. Today we announce that:
4. Dog Lovers – you will be excited to know that we will be running a sequel to Dog’s Day Out that was held in June at Gasworks Plaza. This time we will be hosting a twilight version instead of our full category market on 8th of October 5pm – 9pm. This means there will be a dedicated dog event every 6 months at Gasworks.
8th October – Gasworks Plaza 5pm – 9pm (DOG MARKET ONLY!)
24th October – Fish Lane 9am – 1pm
12th November – Gasworks Plaza 5pm – 9pm
20th November – Portside Wharf 12 – 4pm
27th November – Everton Park 9am – 1pm
5th December – South City Square 9am – 1pm
10th December – Gasworks Plaza 5pm-9pm
12th December – Coorparoo Square 9am – 1pm

Business tip from our Founder:
Don’t forget to start thinking about how you will convert a shopper to a sale from the moment you receive your acceptance notification. We work very hard to attract quality shoppers to the markets but the rest is over to you!
Does your stall invite people in? Can you be making something at your stall? Have you got business cards or a QR code for follow up sales? Have you got some quality displays lined up (hint hint: throwing items onto a table cloth doesn’t really cut is folks!) Have you got a marketing plan in place – dust off those Instagram cobwebs and get planning.

Here is an answer to our most common question:
Q: Do I need a stall photo? This would be my first market.
A: How exciting you are launching a brand new business. Yes you will need to supply a photo of your stall set up to be accepted into The Market Folk – there are no exceptions to this rule. We recommend setting up everything at home or attending other markets who don’t require photos first. Hint: Cover those trestle table legs and iron your covers! Invest in quality signage or make your own with a Cricut Machine.
Don’t forget to display your stock vertically too.
